What is Kinetic Chain Release?

Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) is a medically and scientifically recognised system of gentle mobilisations and stretches, developed by Scottish physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert. It follows a scientifically validated 23-step protocol designed to quickly and effectively reduce recovery time, alleviate a wide range of aches and pains, and restore balance to the body.

The body functions as an interconnected system. When one area is out of balance, it can affect the whole, often leading to physical, mental, and emotional challenges. KCR addresses this holistic connection, making it a suitable and accessible modality for most people, with very few contraindications.

KCR has been compared with a wide range of other bodywork therapies in controlled scientific studies (FOTO) and demonstrated the fastest and most effective outcomes in supporting the body’s return to optimal health. As a result, KCR is widely regarded as a gold standard in bodywork therapy.

Treatments are performed fully clothed on a treatment table and typically last around 45 minutes. I allow 55 minutes for each session to ensure clients feel fully supported, grounded, and relaxed both before and after treatment.
